HARVESTING A NEW YEAR

This year, do something different: start living your life and make a choice to change and be happy. Seems simple? Yes, but it all starts with one choice, one action, one step.

I believe it all starts with your daily habits, as these are what we control and bring us back into each moment. We can all create goals / intentions, but carrying them out, day in day out, that is where the work comes in, and yes it takes work. Sometimes lots and lots of work. This is why it's so hard to shift outside of our comfort zone, if it came easy we would all be jumping with glee outside of our zones, but it's not the case. Many of us just get our toes wet, feel a jolt of fear, and step right back in there. I know this first hand as this definitely used to be me! I was so, so, so scared to step into who I was. I was scared to start my business for fear of success, I was fearful of charging people money for my services, public speaking created massive heart palpitations just thinking about it, I didn't think anyone would want to read my ebook so I stalled, I didn't think I had it in me to be a business owner, and the vortex of lies went on.

But what if we 1) Stepped outside our comfort zone without putting so much pressure on ourselves 2) Felt we were worthy of reaping the harvest of the new year 3) Felt the fear and did it anyway?

If you think about it most good things happen without a plan: friendships, falling in love, recognizing your passions, brushing your teeth, taking care of your skin, nourishing yourself...these things tend to happen organically and by carrying out your daily life in ways you resonate with, and in form with your beliefs, lifestyle, and values.

So lets start small, very small, as we begin to step into the New Year, our harvest, and our worth. We don't move mountains by sprinting, taking giant leaps, or skipping over things. We move them by putting one food in front of the other, stepping into our authentic selves with grace, sometimes some grit, and a whole heap of self-love.

Let's start being more intentional about our daily practices and habits, and making space in our lives for what really matters. Start with making disciplines, habits + practices out of things you ACTUALLY like doing - don't focus on the end outcome, but the process.

We all want a better body, healthier eating habits, better career, but will we do the daily tasks and the work to get there?

E (EVENT) + R (RESPONSE) = OUTCOMES

We all want the O, without the E & R... The process through which it all happens. The work, the intentions, the uncomfortableness, the digging deep,

3 small tidbits that have helped me along the way to reach the Outcomes I so desire. It all starts with small steps / shifts / conscious work:

1) GET UP EARLY - this could be 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes earlier than normal, or heck maybe you decide to rise before the sun (like me!)...whatever suits you. This comes from a place of hearing a lot of people say they don't have enough time to do ______  (food prep, workout, meditate, create, write, read...etc).  We create more hours in the day by getting to bed a bit earlier and /or rising when the rest of the world / family sleeps. When the rest of the world wakes, distractions kick in. Your body will adjust. Brew some organic coffee or green tea and set your intentions for the day, write, work-out, sew, blog, read, make healthy meals and snacks you can take to work. Whatever this means to you - we all have the same 24 hours in the day. It is a choice on how we choose to spend them.

2)TALK TO STRANGERS - Relationships are what make the world go around. We all have stories of meeting someone on an airplane, inline at the check-out, at a coffee shop, honestly you never know who you will meet. Be open to those opportunities, because sometimes those can be your golden ticket - to a new job, a new friendship, or even a new relationship. Even when it is uncomfortable, introduce yourself to new people. The worst they can say is no, but most won't. I promise. The more I started to share with people what I was doing, and step into the light, and be of service, I met so many beautiful people that have helped me along with journey.

3) PRACTICE GENEROSITY - This is my biggest love and the thing I think is most important in life. GIVE. Give your time, energy, money, space, ear to listen, services, ideas. When you do this you will get A LOT more than you give. It may be a smile that warms your heart for the day/week/month, or an opportunity that you didn't even think possible. People will learn to trust you, and if you really help them (with a job/service), word will spread and they will tell others. We all know the truth in - 'word of mouth'.  Simple as that. But never do it for a return, do it because your heart is in the right place. When you start giving genuinely, your world and life will shift...and I promise you it will be for the better.

Well beautiful souls, we all have it in ourselves to change for the better. To change ourselves and live the life we truly want and deserve. Nothing is unachievable. I know I want to live my best year yet, and will make sure each day is a step forward. It might be small steps one day, and a bigger one the next. But there will be movement, and abundance. As stagnation leads me nowhere, and a lack mindset will keep on cycling around and lack will simply grow.

Start creating new daily shifts / intentions/habits. The beauty of it all,  the first step is to just begin where you are.

It is a choice, so choose wisely.
