NATURAL BEAUTY: ANCIENT CLAY HEALING MASK
Bentonite clay is aaancient. It’s first recorded use for medicinal purposes was in 2500 B.C. in Mesopotamia. Bentonite clay is aged volcanic ash and is one of the most powerful and effective healing clays. It helps draw toxins out of the body and has been used for thousands of years by indigenous people. It’s completely and entirely natural, coming straight from the earth. It can be used externally (on your body) AND internally (drinks etc) which is prettyyy hardcore. I'm actually not a huge fan of clay internally, but I know people have found it to be beneficial. It’s amazing for dry skin, acne prone skin, eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, burns, oily skin, uneven skin tone and so much more. When used as a medicinal drink with water, as it has been for thousands of years, the minerals in bentonite clay binds to toxins, heavy metals, impurities, parasites, viruses and more, to clean out your body (use with caution). When used externally, whether a bath or facial, it does the same thing. It pulls out toxins from your skin, tightens pores, tones skin, removes impurities, exfoliates, reduces lines, wrinkles and signs of aging. Bentonite clay can be drying because of it’s detoxifying properties, so I make sure to use rosewater mist and my evening oil (Rosehip oil, Avocado oil, Odacite oils) after I wash the mask off. It’s one of my favorite weekly rituals.
Have you ever used bentonite clay?
Bentonite Clay Facial Mask
– Mix clay with equal parts raw Apple Cider Vinegar and/or water. You could also use coconut oil. – Never let bentonite clay come in contact with metal as it will reduce its effectiveness. Use wood or plastic utensil to stir. -Stir mixture into a paste and apply to face (I do this once a week) -Leave on face for 20 minutes then wash off with warm water. Use a battery operated skin brush to help get a deeper clean.
*Skin may be slightly red afterward, this is normal and will only last 30 minutes max. Use every other day or once a week!
** It might bring any underlying *stuff* to the surface so a few breakouts can ensue. This is normal and do not stress about it. It's good! You want this stuff to come up or you will continue to get recurring breakouts in the same spot.
Benefits of Rosewater
–Helps fight acne, dermatitis, and eczema. Helps heal scars, cuts and wounds. -Hydrates, revitalizes and moisturizes skin making it smooth -Cools the skin -Helps tone skin and revitalize aging skin to keep lines and wrinkles at bay -I use this a couple of times a day for a refresher! -In the morning I don't wash my face before a workout but spray this all over my face, put on oils underneath my eyes to let it soak in when I work out, sweat, and then wash my face
I got mine for 7 dollars when I was in NYC and I buy my Organic Rose Water from small Health Stores in Canada! I hope you love it as much as I do.
