These past few weeks I've posted a lot about natural beauty and skincare. Which isn't a coincidence as I've gone through some hormonal shifts during this time. Nothing too crazy, but I'm quite in tune with my body, so I know when something is array. I've even been looking at old posts of mine to help me out! I've had these blog for over two years now so I even forget what I've written on here! It's definitely a great reference and resource guide.

With these hormonal shifts I've started to break out a bit more than normal (I usually just get a few spots around my monthly), but this past month has proven to produce a lot more spots consistently. Granted the summer sun and inescapable humidity have a part to play. Needless to say I'm looking at my current skincare routine and seeing if I can make some shifts as the temperatures increase.

I wanted to share the products that I'm using and loving at the moment. Again not all are 100% natural, and organic. Most are, but others are only partially. I do my best where I can, and believe in finding products that work for your skin, as we all have such different skin types and body chemistry's. I've tried many, many, many products over the past decade, especially when I struggled with cystic acne in New York, which was in bit of a nightmare.

These are what work for me, but I always love finding new products to try. Usually when I find a gem I stick with it, if it's not broken, why fix it?

Here we go //

Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel - This organic soothing gel is perfect for oilier skin types, and is a skin saver post breakout, any redness or inflammation and even after shaving! I don't use it daily, and most often than not it's around that time of the month!

Simply Divine Botanicals 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' - This exfoliator is the best I've come across. It is a physical exfoliator, as it's a tad grainy. The first ingredient is love and gratitude, and it's infused with Reiki energy! I'm obsessed. It's base is raw wildcrafted honey and Aloe. My skin is so, so smooth after this.

Pai Rosehip Oil - This oil is a natural version of a retinoid. It helps diminish scars (it's been my savior as my skin tends to hyper pigment even when I don't pick a thing!). It reduces fine lines and sun damage, which as we age is something we all want to keep in check. It also lasts forever, is 100% organic and is the best rosehip oil on the market.

Ecco Bella Cleansing Milk - I've tried SO many cleansers in my day. Back in the day I was a super devotee to Cetaphil, who wasn't? This organic cleansing milk is very similar as it's extremely mild, doesn't strip the skin, and removes any and all traces of make-up. It is developed and formulated by Naturopathic Doctors, and is very soothing. Its number one ingredient is Aloe Vera (I've discovered that my skin really loves Aloe, as it's prone to more redness, hyperpigmentation, and is sensitive), which allows this milk to heal irritation or damage that you may be dealing with.

Dessert Essence Toothpaste - I've tried over twenty different natural toothpastes and this takes the cake! It's effective, whitening, all-natural and doesn't have a funny aftertaste or texture which I've run into with natural pastes.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Sunscreen SPF 47 - This is my holy grail product and has been with me for the longest. I've had over a dozen bottles and have used it for over four or five years I believe. Again with all of my other products I've tried a million different sunscreens. Some where natural, and some were not and they all broke me out! I came across this one at Sephora in NYC (you can't find it in Canadian Sephora's so I order it online from their site). With this I don't even need a moisturizer in the morning as the argan oil nourishes my skin just fine (I have oiler/combo skin). I can't rave about it enough! It actually makes my skin look better, and has the double bonus of being a sunscreen. This is a product that I will continue to buy....forever! The bottle looks small, but trust me it lasts forever as you just need one pump. I bought one last September and just repurchased a new bottle at the beginning of June, and I use it daily. My # 1.

Divine Essence Immortelle Spray - I go between a Rose Spray and Immortelle. The later is more soothing for redness and scarring, where as Rose is hydrating, soothing, and more calming. I like to spray this in between my wash and my sunscreen. It refreshes, hydrates, and allows my moisturizer/spf to absorb more evenly and readily.

Dr. Mist Deodorant - I've expressed many times on my search for the perfect natural deodorant. It's been my biggest feat to find one that works for me and my body chemistry. There have been so many times that I debated going back to conventional sticks, but I couldn't bring myself to use them knowing what I know about them! Enter in Dr. Mist. I was first introduced to it by my lovely friend and Naturopath Dr. Riopel. She shared my struggle and raved about this one. Since then it's been the only one to truly help and be effective. It's not 100%, but it's the best of the best for me.

Arcona Gentle Solution - This gem makes my skin glow, and helps repair any discoloration or sun damage that my occur throughout the day. It also decongests any little bumps that are starting to brew underneath my skin! It nourishes with algae, amino acids and chlorophyll and after every night that I use it I wake up with glowing and super soft skin ( I use it around 2-3 times a week).

Aztec Indian Healing Clay- I have no words for this mask! I bought it when I was in NYC in April and just started using it at the end of May. It sat in my cupboard as I was a bit intimidated by it. On the front it says the 'Worlds Most Powerful Facial' and on the back it says 'Feel your face pulsate'. My knowledge of clay is also that it brings up everything to the surface! Anything that is wanting to come out, comes out in a intense way (which is good!), but it can be a tad scary at the same time! The first time I used it I was hooked. I mix it with equal parts apple cider vinegar and leave it on for 20-30 minutes, and it 10000% makes your skin pulsate, almost as if it has a heartbeat. It will leave your skin a tad red for 30-45 minutes after, so do it in the evening! After using this only twice I got compliments on my skin. It was only $8 at Whole Foods in the States (they don't sell it in Canada) so if you are there snatch it up, if no Amazon is your best bet. Another product I will never be without. Holy grail status.

Radius Natural Floss - Vegan, smooth, natural, gluten free, NON-GMO, free of artificial sweeteners and fluoride... I've tired many flosses before as well, and this seems to be the best! (I use the vegan one, as the other ones are made out of silk).

My Top non-product Beauty Essentials: 3-4 Liters of alkaline water, TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar, probiotics, 7-9 hours of sleep a night, green juices, salads, water rich vegetables and fruits and happiness! Stress can be your number one skin killer! Oh and how could I forget - raw, unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil!!! I use it for everything, and soak in it every night in my bath. I love being oily, and nothing can beat pure coconut oil.
