Not only is Danielle a nutritionist, writer, chef, model, creator of QNOLA, but she's also writing her book 'WE ARE WELL' (release date TBA).
What doesn't she do?
What a beautiful, inspiring + light filled force to be reckoned with.
If anyone knows something about pursuing your dreams, living your passion, running a start up, juggling many hats, all the while bringing health, and happiness to others, she is it.
It all started with her website MODEL MANGETOUT when she transitioned from a unhealthy teenager into a blossoming model traveling all over the world, discovering new cities, foods, passions and her everlasting love for nourishing the body, keeping 'well' through her travels, and cultivating a community around it all.
Her product range of quinoa based superfood breakfast goods, QNOLA, are free from gluten, refined sugar, dairy, and grains are hitting shelves all over the world. ( Waiting patiently for a North American release ♥ )
Now only is she an inspiring female founder + entrepreneur, she's incredibly kind, energetically filled, and has a beautiful and gentle soul.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you felt compelled to start your business Qnola?
I'm a model, entrepreneur, writer, chef and consultant, amongst other things, and i am passionate about living a natural and nourished life. i believe everything we need for optimal survival and to thrive exists naturally and is provided to us by the universe (be it food, drink, water, climate, sunlight etc etc). i felt compelled to start qnola to bring a more purely healthy breakfast option to the masses that wasn't highly refined, spiked with chemicals or additives, in order to help people feel their best at the start of each day, to feel their best throughout the rest of the day.
What is Qnola’s vision + mission?
to support people in waking up well in order to get the most out of the day and ultimately their lives. its about empowering people.
How did you know you wanted to start Qnola and become an entrepreneur and start a business?
I didnt! It was never in my plans, it just happened accidentally, really. i started making qnola for myself and simply by sharing it with others on my blog on instagram, is soon had people ordering it and thats when i thought about making it into a business. i never knew i wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I'm so glad it happened to me as its a really creative and free job. its hard but its exciting!
How do you stay motivated on a daily basis?
this is still a struggle. whilst i'm always motivated because i am naturally passionate and excited about what i do, some days it's hard to be physically motivated, if i am tired or if i'm having a bad day and nothing seems to be going right. i think a strong support system like friends and family is crucial - at all the times i've considered giving up, they have been the ones to tell me to keep going. and all the times i feel i can't do things right or I'm not doing a good enough job, they're the ones telling me otherwise. also, to find friends in your industry and who have similar businesses to yours is key. i wouldn't have gotten past sending orders through people messaging me on instagram without all the people that gave me a moment of their time to share some advice, especially in the early days.
Are you always thinking about your business, career, releasing new content and growing?
yes, constantly! even when I'm not working i'm thinking about the business. and even in the most bizarre places i find inspiration. i even dream about it too sometimes. its a major part of my life and the ethos around the brand is naturally within me, so thinking about it doesn't require much effort, but it is hard to switch off sometimes!
On that note, is this a 24/7 job and commitment? (I think this is what people are fearful of!)
absolutely. you have to be prepared for this to become your life. if you set up a business by yourself, there is no one else controlling it, so if you aren't 100% committed, it won't move forward effectively. you're the driving force behind it, especially in the early days.
Where do you find your inspiration to continually stay relevant and authentic to your vision?
Mostly, the relevance and authenticity is naturally within me. i really live and breath everything i portray through my work, and value natural ingredients and natural rituals as essential to a life of alignment and longevity. I'm genuinely inspired by the universe and all its wonders. i also find inspiration from friends, other businesses, things that the world is lacking in that i feel inspired to offer to people, art, travel, people. I find inspiration in the strangest places sometimes.
I know so many entrepreneurs who have all these ideas and desire to start a business / release a product, but they are fearful and have no idea where to start! It can be overwhelming. How did you move past this and what obstacles arose from the process? What would you tell someone in this place?
I didn't have to move past this because i didn't think about it. i was so young and i had no idea what creating a business involved. i think trying to quiet your negative thoughts and work on the things you fear is crucial in order to get to a place where you can trust yourself, trust the universe and have confidence to do your best, whatever that may be. what many people fear often never happens, so instead of worrying about something in the future, just do what you can, with what you've got, now.
Are you ever really ready to go solo and become an entrepreneur? Or are the people who are actually doing and living it simply taking action? (as you did with Qnola!!!)
I think so, yes. you can never be prepared for every single possible situation, not in any part of your life. just go for it.
Who are your biggest mentors / sources of inspiration?
everyone who owns a start up and small brand, who you can tell has worked extremely hard to get it to where it is. of course large corporate companies with lots of investment is impressive from a growth and revenue point of view, but i get much more functional advice from people who have struggled and overcome challenges, rather than having a large team behind them who struggle on their behalf. the struggle stories are more interesting than the victory stories! i also have my parents to thank for supporting me and giving me advice and inspiration from an external point of view. there are also podcasts like Asos's my big idea and Sophia Amoruso's Girl Boss which changed my life!

Top 5 Favorite Foods you eat daily?
Avocado, Smoothies or Tonics with superfood powders, tonic herbs and adaptogens, Berries, Nuts, Quinoa or Sweet Potato.
Are there any foods that you try to stay away from?
Anything thats been refined or processed from its natural state. i occasionally eat out of line with my general 'natural' philosophy, and when i do i enjoy it, but day to day i eat only fresh, natural produce and if i eat meat or fish it must be organic, ethical and sustainably sourced. i generally avoid bread unless its freshly hand made, sugar unless it comes from a more natural nutritious source like coconut sugar or dates, fizzy drinks, dairy, unless it is raw or from a local source, fresh and not too processed.
Top 3 favorite foods to indulge in? Organic pizza, chocolate, real ice cream.
Favorite way to sweat? Boxing, core classes, TRX classes, kettlebell classes, running, skipping, yoga, yoga, yoga.
I love skin and I'm fascinated with how people maintain their 'glow' (which you have, you literally glow through all your photos and videos)! What are your Top 5 favorite skincare products or procedures (facials, treatments, etc.)?
i don't do much to my skin. i exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a natural scrub, i use shea butter or natural oils to moisturise, i moisturise every day, morning and night, with natural organic herbal products, and i occasionally do some kind of mask treatment at home. i never get facials but when i do, i go to Content Beauty.
Do you take supplements? If so, what are your favorites and do you find you’re consistent with them? (In my practice, I find this the hardest part for my clients)
i used to take a lot of supplements every day but now i work mostly with the power of adaptogens, superfoods and tonic herbs, adding them to smoothies, nut milk or water to drink. i use pine pollen, reishi, cordyceps, chaga, cacao, maca, gotu kola, he shou wu and many others. then when i remember i also have vitamin D supplements, multivitamins, probiotic capsules, 5 HTP (this helped me at my most stressful points in business) and a few others like zinc, copper and charcoal. i dont have much structure to taking them but i probably should!
5 non-negotiables when it comes to your skin and self-care routine? exfoliation, dry body brushing, natural oils, moisturising, and eating well.
Weirdest thing you do in the name of beauty? brush my teeth with charcoal powder.
How do you practice glowing from the inside out? eating well and drinking well. always trying to be kind and positive and happy and accepting and grateful, in order to spread good vibrations and good energy.
Favorite quote or affirmation? I have so many. life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful, is one of them.
How do you practice self-love? I don't really. I'm naturally very hard on myself, but I'm learning to be more accepting and more proud of myself. i meditate in order to give myself this time to think and reflect. i also do yoga which makes me feel great, i guess thats a form of self love, to me, just giving myself time and moving my body and mind in ways that feel good.
How do you find balance in your life, and how do you relax? its hard to do in london and other big cities, and i feel i only truly relax when i am abroad or out in the countryside. i do meditate and read and study and surround myself with friends - i think good vibrations from others help to balance me when I'm struggling or feeling stressed.
What would you tell your younger self? you don't have to do things a certain way. there is no right way. pave your own path, navigate your own direction and create your own journey. don't do as you're told or believe is 'right'. basically, figure it out for yourself and don't live a life dictated by shoulds.
What is your true passion + purpose? discovering new things, people and places, and sharing them with others. i am passionate about learning more about the universe, the energy of life and sharing them with people. many people lose their sense of wonder especially in big cities and i want to help enthuse people again about the power of the world we live in and the importance of taking it all in, respecting it and above anything, enjoying it whilst we're here.
What do you do when you feel stuck or start to feel fear creeping in? (self-worth, uncertainty, financial, physical, all areas). i feel awful and i generally can't snap out of it. i usually speak to friends, family or my boyfriend. i read. i try to avoid social media. i meditate. and then i work through positive aspects and gratitude, reflecting on all i have and all i've achieved in order to restore a sense of balance and self-respect in my soul, body and mind. it usually stays with me for the day and after a good nights sleep i wake up ready to go again, wondering why i was so worried!
If you could only give 3 pieces of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs + people who are stuck where they are, about life, love, business and living your passion – what would those be? dont wait for the right time, do it now. it's not going to be easy, but it is going to be fun. dont spend what little time we have on this earth worrying or stressing. its unhealthy in so many ways, and not for you but for others around you too. instead recognised how blessed we are, stay curious, explore, discover, learn, grow and enjoy!
What is greatness to you? people who make a difference, people who help others, people who aren't doing things just to make money, people who share, people who create. there's greatness in everything, just look around. many of us focus on the negative things in life or the lack of things, but if you open your eyes, your heart and your mind, you'll realise just being here is great!
