GREEN JUICE IN 2014.
One of my favorite things + topics to speak and write about. I've said it before and I will continue to sing its praises, as its been a massive part of my healing journey.
So with the New Year in full swing, which I'm already LOVING, I wanted to share some benefits + healing properties of this magical drink.
First of all when is the BEST time to drink it?
1st choice) On an empty stomach. The nutrients will be absorbed the best, as when you drink juice with a meal you will delay absorption, and, ultimately, some nutrients may not be absorbed and will be consumed by the beneficial bacteria in your gut.
2nd choice) With a green salad. This allows for the highest alkalinity, which helps with detoxification.
The easiest way to enjoy the benefits of a green juice is to drink it as your morning meal, at least an hour before or after coffee (the acidity of which will negate the juice's alkalizing effects), and never with a cooked meal!
Now onto the benefits - I truly think this list just touches the surface of its benefits, and I do feel to TRULY reap the benefits you have to do it on a consistence basis + follow the rules above. So WHY is it SO good:
Easy Assimilation of enzymes, phytochemicals, vitamins, trace minerals are rapidly available for the cells and tissues in the body. Which allows our bodies to function optimally.
Extremely Hydrating our cells consist mainly of water, which is essential to proper cell function, hence they daily recommendations of 8 glasses of water a day. Juicing supplies the water you need to replenish lost fluids.
Promotes Alkalinity vital for proper immune function. Diseases, infections, inflammation, pain, cancer all thrive in an acidic environment. Become more alkaline has also been a key factor to my healing! I will definitely write more about that in another post as it requires more depth.
Cleansing/Detoxifying helps the body remove toxins. Detoxifies the system and cleanses the digestive tract/colon.
Promotes Clarity + clears the mind and balances your mood. Whenever I drink green juice I feel SO incredible happy.
Natural weight loss, burns excess fat which is good as fat stores harmful toxins! We need to clear that liver out.
Blast of Antioxidants counteracts the free radicals that can cause cellular damage, aging and susceptibility to cancers.
Natural Energy no crashing or burning, consistent energy. I used to be HIGHLY addicted to coffee, and although I do love the experience of coffee, it was creating too much acidity in my body. So I quite cold turkey over a year ago and replaced it instantly with green juice every morning & I didn't miss it ONE BIT. I think I'm at a point now where I could have a cup if I wanted, but honestly I feel so much better with my green love.
Chlorophyll rich - chlorophyll has a similar structure to hemoglobin that allows it to enhance the body’s ability to produce more, which in turn enhances the delivery of oxygen to the cells. More oxygen to the cells, allows the system to function at its optimal state! When I was feeling really bad, I would picture the green juice in an IV bag (silly I know), going into my veins and being the medicine that my body needed to heal. I refuse to take any sort of drugs for anything.
Healthier BODY! GLOWING skin, shiny hair, healthy nails, as the minerals and vitamins in the fruits and vegetables provides a more youthful look. The fountain of youth.
Better libido, for those of you in relationships ; )
Preventative medicine anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, healing, reverse chronic illness.
I could go on & on as I LOVE it so much, but these are the major benefits + reasons why GREEN JUICE should be in your life, in some form or another. You don't have to have it daily if it's not realistic for you, or maybe your body thrives off green smoothies better. Listen to it, but also try out juicing for a good solid 3 weeks and see how you feel after! I guarantee you, you WILL feel + look different. That's the beauty of it, it's magical.
Hope everyone is having an AMAZING start to 2014. It know it will be great.
