One of my favorite topics + things on the planet is GREENS. My family + friends can attest to my obsession around greens, but after you have felt the power of these perfect + potent plants, especially in the form of PURE. ORGANIC. FRESH PRESSED Green Juice. . . you would be too. Add in a scoop of Vitamineral Greens, and I swear once you drink it, hulk like tendencies will over take your body. I feel so, so alive and everything about my body from the inside out simply glows.

But what makes our veggies so green?

I know most people have heard of chlorophyll, but most probably don’t actually know what it is, or the health benefits this bad boy can have on your body. So, I thought I would shine a little light on this a m a z i n g creation. Light being the operative word, chlorophyll is basically liquid sunshine. It is the pigment in the plants that allows them to absorb light from the sun and convert it into usable energy. The name derives from the Greek word chloros (meaning green) and phyllon (meaning leaf). It is a green pigment found in almost all algae, plants and cyanobacteria. So lets sink our teeth into its benefits + magical properties. . .

Chlorophyll is a cleansing and purifying agent, which stimulates the bowels.

A powerful detoxification effect on the body

Rich in enzymes that promote quick rejuvenation of our cells

High in Amino acids

Extracts toxins form the liver and improves liver function - when our liver is happy, so are we

Generally speaking, the darker the green color, the more chlorophyll, so dark leafy greens are a THE BEST, especially dino kale and other kale varieties, swiss chard and darker greens like arugula and dandelion. Adding herbs like parsley and cilantro are also great ways to spruce up your salads and increase chlorophyll content in your diet. Blue-green algae such as spirulina and chlorella are especially high in chlorophyll, as are all sprouts (one of my favorite foods!). Wheatgrass has one of the highest sources of chlorophyll available, so get your wheatgrass shots in!

Simple take away - EAT, DRINK, JUICE, CONSUME, DEVOUR, ADD, GROW, MORE Greens to your life ! Instead of focusing on things you 'have' to take out + not eat. Simply start adding more greens into your life - you will feel SO good that the other 'addictions' will slowly fall away. . . Crowd out the bad by simply adding in more good. Your taste buds will begin to change, your skin will literally GLOW and when you start to feel the LIQUID sun you get from each bite and sip, you will never want to go back.
