“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.” ― Henry David Thoreau

Today we get an extra day (Happy Leap Year!), and since this only happens every four years, I want to embrace it to the fullest. I try to do it every single day, but today gets extra emphasis as it's a gift to live another day. As we're about to enter into a new season we are met with new opportunities, new life and making the choice to live it in joy and gratitude.

There is no other life, or no other day but today. Learning to live in the now is one of the hardest things to conquer. This is something I'm constantly working on. When I read the quote above this morning it really spoke to me, as this theme keeps on popping up in my life. Live in the now, and ride the wave....

We are constantly waiting for an open door, instead of walking through the door before it's already open.

Today I'm practicing being in the now, and cultivating a gracious heart in every single step. And taking the steps before my mind tells me I'm ready.

How will you spend this 'extra' day you've been given?

Happy Monday!
