LIFESTYLE: MONDAY INSPIRATION - VALENTINES WEEK
This weekend ushers in another 'holiday' as I'm sure you all know. Hearts, candies, flowers, romantic dinners, weekends away, diamonds, and gifts infiltrate our daily consciousness. Although I love nothing more than celebrating love, and showing the people in my life that I love them to the moon and back, I'm not one for the typical romantic gestures that are forced upon society by social media and pop culture. Not to say that I'm a Valentines Day Debbie Downer, never, I just believe that too much is focused on the external, than on the love we not only give to others, but ourselves, internal self love and the expression of that. This quote that I read yesterday inspired me to share this, and hopefully it will inspire you to see this week differently:
“You can be the most beautiful person in the world and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you, but if you yourself don't know it, all of that doesn't even matter. Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself; is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It's not like you have forever, so don't waste any of your seconds, don't throw even one of your moments away.” ― C. JoyBell C.
These few simple sentences really left an impact on my heart as I think I've really been comparing myself to others these past few months, especially on the business front. I get so wrapped up about things I'm not doing, that I'm not fully relishing in what I AM doing, and am starting to do and manifest. I've had too many fearful and doubtful thoughts running through my head, and I know it's time to stop. Those moments are wasted, and are not serving anyone, especially myself!
So this week I'm really turning my thoughts around and getting back to basics. Expressing copious amounts of love to my inner self and soul, and reminding myself that I have everything I will ever need right now.
I just wanted to share a small list of how I will be expressing love to not only myself, but others this Valentines Day week, as it is all about love, life is love, and if there is a special week, day and event to celebrate it even more I'm definitely going to join in, but do it my way:
- Write 5 things every single day that I am grateful for - Limited social media time - Buying flowers for myself - Making peoples day by doing something special for them - strangers, friends, loved ones. This should be an everyday thing! - DIY spa night - Working on my own business, instead of wishing, dreaming, comparing myself to other nutritionists + entrepreneurs - Getting into the kitchen to create some new recipes - Sweating every single day in ways that make me feel enlivened - aka Ballet Beautiful! - Eating mindfully - Buy my loved ones treats for no reason - giving is everything - Instead of expressing fear, express gratitude - No negative self talk! - Taking time to relax with no guilt attached to it - Continue my resolution to read 2 books a month! - Be love in every situation. Negative people and situations can try to bring you down but staying true to who you are, and what you believe in wins every. single. time.
