A MOTHERS LOVE.

PicMonkey Collage A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ―Washington Irving

“If I have done anything in life worth attention, I feel sure that I inherited the disposition from my mother.” —Booker T. Washington

Today I celebrate all Mother's out there . . . You are a gift beyond belief, beyond, beyond a gift. There is NOTHING truer and more pure than a Mother's Love.

I lost my Mama over 12 years ago, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her, send her love + ask her to watch over me. To say that I miss her does not do the words, feelings, yearning justice. What comforts me is being blessed to have had her for the time that I did.

Her smile which would light up an entire room, touch that healed any and all wounds, heart of gold, the way she would read me stories before bed, and rub my back every single night, her selflessness that still blows my mind to this day. Not many people know this - but when I found out she only had a few days to live ( I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean) I had my last conversation with her, which I would soon find out were my last words with her, and on the phone she told me NOT to come home! That she was ok, and that she didn't want me to worry about her. . . . she wanted to see me dance on the cruise ship and was planning to come when she had the strength, but she passed weeks before that.

If you are in my life, and know me, I AM who I am because of this woman. When I was sick, she gave me the strength to heal and was / is the angel that saved me. Knowing what she went through and the years of suffering she endeared gave me courage and strength to live each day full of happiness, no matter how I was feeling. Even at her sickest I remember her telling me to smile no matter what. We truly forget how much a smile can change a moment, day + life.

Honestly there are NO words to describe how much my mother means to me. And I know you feel the same.

A mothers love is priceless

The end.

So today celebrate your mom in every and any way you can. It's a year round, daily celebration, but TODAY give her extra love. For me, as I yearn to give my mom the biggest hug in the world. But will look above and shine my love and heart upwards. My angel simply lives in my heart.

Happy Mothers Day.

love & light
